From Senior Portraits to Azalea Magic: Vess Returns!

One of the greatest joys in this photography journey is seeing familiar faces again—and again! Vess first stepped in front of my camera for her senior portraits, and from the very beginning, I knew she was something special. Her energy is magnetic, and that smile? It lights up the room (and every frame).

Since that first session, Vess has come back a few times just for fun—no special occasion needed, just the love of creating beautiful images and capturing a little bit of the joy she brings wherever she goes.

Our most recent session was timed perfectly with one of North Carolina’s most beloved blooms: the azaleas. These bright, bold flowers only stick around for a short window in early April, and they transform our area into a pastel dream. It’s no wonder Wilmington throws a whole festival in their honor!

Vess brought her usual charm, even while swatting bees and pretending the North Carolina humidity wasn’t getting to us. Here’s what she had to say about the session:

“I had the best time doing a photo shoot with the azaleas in bloom. Between dodging bees and pretending I wasn’t sweating, it turned out to be such a fun time. The pictures turned out amazing. Didn’t expect a simple photo shoot to turn into such a feel good moment.”

That right there is why I do what I do. It’s not just about the photos—it’s about the experience. The laughter, the moments between the poses, and the joy of being seen and celebrated.
