Jeff Wenzel is a skilled photographer with a passion for putting art on walls. His photography journey started several years ago, purely by accident. Jeff has been building and flying model airplanes for 20 years.  This favorite pastime inspired him to take aerial shots of Topsail.  Luck would have it that one Black Friday sale would give him the opportunity he was looking for. Jeff was able to purchase a DJI drone which was the start to changing the trajectory of his career. 

Initially self-taught through "YouTube University", he learned the basics of photography by watching videos and trying to emulate other photographers he admired.

Jeff quickly learned that a drone can be effective in being able to place a camera in a spot where cameras normally can't shoot from. This began his quest to maximize a drone's strengths (composition) and minimize its weakness (sensor size).

Jeff owns and operates Above Topsail, a complete image company just off of Topsail in Holly Ridge, NC. Along with selling his landscape artwork, he has a portrait studio as well as a photo print shop and a custom picture frame shop. Above Topsail prints for over 20 Topsail area photographers and painters on paper and canvas. In the winter, Jeff teaches photography classes on multiple topics.

Jeff is married to Lindsay and has two children, Deacon and Natalie.  Jeff's hobbies include softball and being the mayor of Holly Ridge, NC.
